The guy easily could have used a lower setting.
Or just NOT BE A RETARD and try balancing on the ball on a level floor. If he already succeeded with that then YES he should have use a lower setting on the balance beam.

See the y frame under the beam? That's for adjusting it up and down. The guy easily could have used a lower setting.
