I don't think this answers his question. I think he wants to know where that seemingly random leg comes from. I explained it with somebody sitting there in a chair with his/her legs crossed. For some reason, that reply of mine didn't get posted. Which reminds me of how I have no idea how 4GIFs works. Some comments get posted, some don't, sometimes an already posted comment disappears. It's like magic.

That's why manually operated sliding glass doors on publicly accessible entrances are a terrible idea, especially when they're as badly designed as this one is. The person who decided to put this in should be lynched by the nearest civil engineering class.
