2nd commenter is a total moron. The image shows the glass sitting on a counter meaning that you have two hands available to hold the carton on the lip of the glass.
Pouring with the carton reversed like this is inferior to the normal way because the carton has the paper seam which gets in the way of the pouring and release.
However, pouring motor oil IS best done reversed like this because the bottle has no seam getting in the way. Motor oil bottles have the spout on one side for that reason.

You can see that the window was already cracked in a few places. That's why it broke so easily. Maybe some safety glass might be in order?
