the ump would not have been fired, little league umps are trained to make sure no kids get hurt on the basepaths if they're not involved in the play (thus the kid standing in the batters box gets yoiked) i agree its a little excessive but the ump needed to be quick or else one of those kids was going to get hurt. Gotta remember, these umpires have it ground into their brains that not every little kid knows the rules of the game and don't know what to do sometimes.
