heres the thing with asia, and most developing nations, as a general rule of thumb: automobiles are still relatively new to the landscape over there.
we in the west have grown up with certain things ingrained in us by watching parents and others while they drive. we really take this for granted, stuff like passing safely, using turn signals, obeying speed limits, paying attention to signals and signs, everything in general.
there do happen to be cameras (cctv) in a lot of the asian cities, which compounded with a ton of new drivers getting on the road each and every day, helps make it look like asians are the only bad drivers.
look at japan, they've had drivers for much longer than their se asian counterparts, and consequentially, they don't have as many of these crazy accidents
