makes me think its kind of how the inside of a cylinder (in a cars engine) would look during detonation (the last part where the flames flicker...)

Now you know how the sun works/looks like.

Pressure from gas pushes out, gravity pushes it down, its why it just burns like this but its size never changes. At least until it runs outta super-compressed gas and explodes killing us all in a fiery nuclear hellstorm.

I did this with a smaller bottle when I was younger but I had my hand the wrong way in front of the opening. I didn't feel a thing but when I looked at my finger the skin that got burnt had turned straight white. Like an idiot I cut off the 2 inch blister with nail clippers, then I played Diablo 2 with some friends. Shit took a couple months to scar over.
