It's not in reverse. I was trying to figure how the debris would behave when affected by that kind of motion underwater, and I'm fucked. No idea. Sudden vacuum.. vs. a wake.. inertia.. etc.

I do know that if it was in reverse, there wouldnt be a dust plume rising after the plant-thing sank in. And you can see that. Also you can see rocks slide downwards on top of it. They wouldnt gently slide upwards if that thing shot out, which is what it would be doing if this was reversed.
