the fuel guy was about to remove it but someone sent the wrong signal to the driver (everything in the pit area runs on milliseconds, some guy waves a finger to the drive to hit the accelerator he wont waste any time). And the driver cant even see the fuel line to the side of him or above him because one: his head is locked into place for the most part, two: hes focused on one thing, hitting the accelerator the moment they finish.

That was at the Milwaukee Mile in, like, 1999 or 2000. It was a CART race and that was Michael Andretti's pit crew guy. They took him to Froedert (our local trauma center) and he was totally fine. Unbelievable.
