Don't tense your body when you get hit. You can get muscle lesions when tensing. Haven't you ever heard of roll with the punches?

Physics fail
To the guy below me:
It must not be the same Earth the rest of us live on because tensing up before any sort of impact is a good way to maximise your injuries. You go limp if you don't want to get hurt. Get a clue dude.

Learn to Take a Punch
Clenching your teeth like that before taking a solid blow to the jaw is a great way to end up spitting out your teeth and having your jaw wired shut.
