50/50 weight distribution does not mean weight isn't hanging off the rear. The engine is still behind the rear axle which just means there is less weight in the middle of the car (where you >really< want it, mass centralization).

Good control! But I've read that those porches can be dangerous with so much weight at the rear of the car.
