blanks
That actor from the 80's show "Yellow Rose of Texas" (or something like that) was playing Russian roulette with blanks and blew his brains out by accident.

First of all, it's still a very, very rare situation that a blank can kill. Yes, that is a case, but it is very rare. For example, you're quoting one from the year I was born.
I understand what a blank round is and have used many in my life. I'm not in a position where you will point a blank at a person from any distance closer than 10m. I HAVE known people who have been shot with blanks from closer ranges and the plastic in the blanks have shot past the BFA and cut the skin of my friends.
I'm not a retard; I just wouldn't be pointing a blank at anyone's head or anyone up close.
Specifically;
"Jon-Erik Hexum (died 12 October 1984)
Hexum died of a gunshot wound after he accidentally shot himself in the head with a .44-caliber magnum pistol loaded with blanks while on the set of the TV series Cover-Up. Wadding from the blank cartridge had been driven into his skull."
Note; He did not die like that one asshole who died during The Crow, where a blank propelled a projectile. He was killed by the wadding of the blank itself. There are several other examples of retards believing as you do and dying as a result.

To those who think blanks can kill you
You know Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) died because of a blank round. Of course, there was a a squib load (a bullet left in the barrel, the bullet was there from a misfire on a previous scene in The Crow), but the blank had enough force to fire the squib load out and kill him.

Yes, blanks can kill but they have to really close to the person and it has to be a vital area such as neck or head. a blank aimed at the head from just an inch or two away will seriously injure or even kill a person. This guy was well out of that range but still got some fun from the powder that still escapes.

It would kind of be like throwing a nail at someone really hard. It will break the skin, but will not kill you. It CAN blind you if you're shot in the eye though.

blank ammo
First - it was bad trigger discipline. Trooper from second line pulled trigger immediately after "chamber" command. Second - as for any honour salvo - the ammo was blank. The trooper with his hat blown off was given a citation for not breaking the formation.

Accidental Discharge
o that idiot who typed something about pulling the bolt with bad trigger discipline. First off from their stance, their pulling back on the charging handles and holding the foregrips, so theres no way he could have had his finger on the trigger. Second of all what most likely happened is the weapons were BFA's and he'd already had a chambered round and when he pulled back on the charging handle it discharged the round instead of ejecting, as pointed out slam-fire. The other trooper is lucky to still be alive and have his head.
