Not so much Darwinism on the babies part, more on the parents part that thought it was a good idea to have an open flame in front of a baby and expect them to know how birthdays work. Probably gonna be the kind of parents that tell their kids they shouldn't do something because " I said so" so the kid never learns why it's actually dangerous and does it anyway.

They buried the IED too deep, so the explosion went straight up instead of up and out. A good thing, too.
