Yes, voter suppression is illegal, but so is voting by non U.S. citizens. Therefore the reason for voter I.D. to be required.
If the minorities and the poor have their I.D. to collect their welfare benefits, they have sufficient I.D.

Voter ID is what Trump wants so that minorities and the poor, many whom have no ID and vote Dem, cannot vote. Voter fraud has been proven to be less than 100 votes in 100 million. And most of the fraud has been in favor of the Republicans.
